The Chemainus Valley Historical Society was established in 1963 by a group of dedicated volunteers with a desire to preserve the vast history that is Chemainus. When it became clear that home basements could not keep up with the growing number of artifacts being collected, the decision was made that a central location was needed. This began the massive community effort that created the Chemainus Valley Museum, which opened in 1991. With ever changing exhibits and incredible displays, be sure to have us on your must-see list!
